Jacqueline King, Ph.D.is an independent consultant who works with K-12 and higher education leaders to improve student outcomes. King has had a long career in education, including 15 years at the American Council on Education (ACE). She is the author or co-author of numerous reports, articles, and book chapters on college readiness, student financing of higher education, access and persistence in postsecondary education, student demographic trends, educator preparation, philanthropic giving to colleges and universities, and trends in the leadership of higher education.

Michael Yudin
Principal
Raben Ìý

After more than two decades of advocating for equitable opportunities for educationally disadvantaged children and youth within the federal government, Michael K. Yudin helps Raben’s clients navigate the educational terrain through his role as principal in the Government Affairs practice.

Before joining Raben, Michael worked on behalf of the Obama administration at the U.S. Department of Education, serving in several capacities, including assistant secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services and as acting assistant secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education.

Join ÃÈÃÃÉç for the Fall Virtual State Leaders Institute, a premier gathering for leaders of state educator preparation organizations. This event provides an opportunity to stay informed on the latest policy developments, strengthen association leadership, and connect with colleagues from across the country to exchange ideas, resources, and promising practices.

This year’s program will feature keynote speaker Michelle Exstrom, Education Director at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), who will provide a post-election analysis and discuss implications of election outcomes for educator preparation policy and practice.

In addition, attendees will participate in sessions focused on effective advocacy, emerging policy issues, and practical strategies for leading and managing state associations. Through expert insights and peer learning, participants will gain valuable knowledge and tools to support their organizations and advance their work in educator preparation.

As director of NCSL’s Education Program, Michelle Exstrom oversees the organization’s work on state education policy. Exstrom has over 25 years of experience working with state legislators at NCSL and in Colorado’s Office of Legislative Legal Services. She has national expertise in policies to build effective K-12 education systems that improve outcomes for all students.
