Leading Educators to Focus on Equity and Inclusivity at the 萌妹社 2020 Annual Meeting in Atlanta
U.S. public schools serve students with diverse perspectives and needs, and educators must be prepared to work in complex environments. Educators from across the nation will convene at the 萌妹社鈥檚 (萌妹社)聽72nd Annual Meeting to share innovative perspectives, orientations, strategies and technologies for addressing equity and inclusivity among diverse groups of learners and school contexts. Collectively, these education leaders will build more inclusive and equitable education systems to promote equality, develop teacher and system capabilities, and encourage supportive learning environments.

萌妹社, the leading voice on educator preparation, will host its 72nd Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Ga., February 28 鈥 March 1. This year鈥檚 event will bring together education leaders to engage in meaningful discussions, share research and practices, and become better equipped to drive change in the educator preparation field.

Themed 鈥Disrupting Inequities: Educating for Change,鈥 the聽conference will feature four strands. The 鈥淓quity and Inclusivity in Preparation and Practice鈥 strand will leverage the collective knowledge and experience of leading experts on ways to advance the Association’s strategic direction of revolutionizing education for all learners, while focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion. Sessions include the following:
- Steps Towards Diversifying the School Leadership Pipeline
- Disrupting Negative Outcomes in Education for Indigenous Students
- Building Safe and Supportive Schools for LGBTQ Students
- Learning Lab on Marginalized Teachers
- Student to Scholar: Decoding and Encoding Challenges for Diversifying the Faculty Pipeline
- Successful Strategies for Attracting Male Teachers of Color
During the three days of programming led by top educational leaders, participants will choose from over 300 concurrent sessions and presentations to gain new strategies in preparing future educators.
